Inspiration
Florence, the origin of the European Renaissance, is located in the middle of Italy. A group of outstanding artists in history were born here, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Dante Alighieri, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Raffaello Santi, etc. Countless artworks were created during this significant period in history, especially the most representative architecture in the city. Through deep research of the architecture in Florence, landmark buildings and unnamed places built the city together. Both of them are unique and irreplaceable. Geometric shapes and lines consist of the outline of the architecture, which overlaps the structure of English letters.
Typeface Design
Finding letters hidden in Florence by zooming in and out and changing the point of view. Some of the letters are inspired by landmarks in Florence, including the Florence Cathedral, the Uffizi Gallery, and the Palazzo Vecchio. Others are from some unnamed places, such as a street light, a window, or a door on the street. However, whether they are known or not, all of them are worth seeing and remembering. Gargantuan and historical architecture is simplified and illustrated as twenty-six letters. The set of typefaces is created by single lines and monotone, which is straightforward and modern. It provides another way for people to appreciate the architecture and read the letters in the meantime.
